dror: volume.MGX at design miami 09

volume.MGX in full form and lying flat
dror benshetrit of studio dror has collaborated with .MGX with a light project, volume.MGX
being presented at design miami 09. he has applied his squared square geometry to one flat 3D,
selective laser sintering(SLS) print of interlocking squares, which when illuminated,
expresses the complexity of its shape. playing with shadow and light, it highlights the various
effects the luminosity has on the hundreds of squares which make up the collapsible form.
the light is diffused in such a way that it gives the structure a bright, warm glow in the center,
which gradually fades into cooler, darker shades on the edges and corners of the cube.
