vanessa harden: mouse assisted interplay
vanessa harden: mouse assisted interplay

mouse assisted interplay by vanessa harden is an imagined dating service where people meet and interact
through their pet mice. the project was inspired by mouse fanciers, ‘an existing subculture that breeds
and shows prize winning rodents’. the idea combines this interest in mice with current trends like internet
dating and speed dating. mice owners would meet online, choosing a potential mate based on their
mouse’s breeding profile. a wearable tube habitat allows the owners to have their mice meet and also
promotes human to human interaction. the habitat has a number of features including a docking
mechanism, which connects the two users together. while the mice instigate the encounter, the aim is
to encourage dialogue between the owners.
