this wall clock by BGM project doesn't indicate time by number and hands. instead,
the figures of a grandmother, grandchild and dog represent the hour, minute and second hands.
silhouettes of nature and daily life are arranged around the clock, and each figure moves
through these scenes to represent the time.

Has anyone else noticed this:
The ID students think/create like artists and the artists think/create like designers
This "clock" is a nice art project but, it is a worthless design.
Compared to a digital readout (which is supremely functional and can be done beautifully, artistically, economically/elegantly...) it is worthless.
However, it is a very nice art object (which there should be mass production of; art should not belong to the elite few...)
I take umbrage with this being promoted as a good design.
I think I may have just hit on the best delineation/definition of Art v. Design:
Design is demonstrably X
Art is Subjectively X
X= That which embodies elements of Efficacy, Efficiency, Elegance, Etc...
(Forthwith to be known as "The Four 'E's"! Can you tell I'm a fan of alliteration? Ha!)
