for the lamp: it means that you have to destroy every wall to make the object practicle?... i think the first price was bullshit, the third prices was better in his category.

Oh, and it is a rip off from the much better Eiger North Light . What boneheads do judge those poor 1500 entry competitions anyway?
Ben   01.20.10
i think these three are all meaningless. seriously. designer could be inspired by a suddenly popped up idea, but should take it as a result. but that's what i see from the recongnized work here. i don't know should i be proud in this field or not right now.

*i mean shouldn't take it as a result

3rd prize is awesome !

Strange how the critics never leave a link to their own work! Don't be bitter save that energy and try to do something better.

All three designs are pretty cool in my opinion and the winner is not that similar to the pick-axe lamp you posted Ben, it's way more beautiful!

When's the next Competition?

you do not understand nothing about design,
if everybody will think as you
we still will use stone wheels.
'schlagschatten' by cornelius comanns
is much better and works without electricity,
it means you can use it on the open air.

Many Artisans “get” an idea quickly, are bored with elaborate explanations, and just want to get on with implementing the real-world application. Love the AX!
LKL   01.20.10
I don't understand why here are so many negative comments. My favorite is the second prize - Japanese designers knowhow to combine elements of the concrete world to create sensory pleasure.
It's soooo beautiful.
