the intelligent hand: awards ceremony
the presentation of the massimo martini design awards were held this week at fiera milano.
the awards honored the three winners of the recent designboom / macef competition
'the intelligent hand'.
the jury was composed of:
giulio iacchetti, industrial designer, ITALY
tahmineh javanbakht, founder of artecnica, USA
piercarla delpiano, communication director Fiera Milano SpA
birgit lohmann, editor-in-chief designboom
more than 3100 people from 88 different countries participated in the competition.
the winners were:
first prize 'schlagschatten - a lamp' by cornelius comanns from germany
second prize 'curvaceous folder' by shuhei senda from japan
third prize 'shaving stools and coffee table' by yoav avinoam from israel

All three designs are pretty cool in my opinion and the winner is not that similar to the pick-axe lamp you posted Ben, it's way more beautiful!
When's the next Competition?
you do not understand nothing about design,
if everybody will think as you
we still will use stone wheels.
'schlagschatten' by cornelius comanns
is much better and works without electricity,
it means you can use it on the open air.
It's soooo beautiful.
