‘matero’ stool in goat skin and lenga wood, 35cm height and stackableimage by manu rapoport

during the [d3] design talents at imm cologne 2010, manu rapoport and martin sabattini from designo-patagonia presented furniture designs made from stone, wood and leather. both the design and the choice in materials is a reflection of the history and craftmanship inherent to the area of patagonia and showcases their respect for the natural and human resources unique to this region.

design-patagonia has created an endless number of products from complete office furniture sets to simple toys using these basic materials and also involve themselves in projects interested in social and environmental sustainability. this includes work that uses recycled materials whereby they collaborated with the local craft sector and developed design concepts for public spaces.
