showcased as an installation at imm cologne 2010, 'commodulate' is a booth generator developed
by an interdisciplinary team of students enrolled in the interior architecture, intermedia design
and architecture department at the fachhochschule trier in germany. with the aid of
a computer-program written in rhinoscript / visual basic, parameters of a required exhibition
space are processed and evaluated to then manifest itself into a physical booth.
while the design tools follows a high tech approach, the building of the booth is contrasted
with a low tech solution. using recyclable pizza boxes, the built stands become aesthetically
exaggerated as the use of cardboard boxes results in obvious shifts and deformations.
