joshua demonte: architectural jewelry

joshua demonte is a philadelphia based jewelry designer who models his works after architectural
elements. demonte uses classical architecture as a basis for his works, which in his view activate
the space surrounding the body and alter the viewers perception of the wearer. his pieces includes
necklaces modeled after aqueducts or bracelets based on classical cathedrals. rather than working
with the establish embellishments of jewelry objects, demonte chooses to uses architecture as a frame
of reference.

Nice, agree with Seitaishogun.
Maybe stupid as a product design, but not in fashion.

c'mon guys this is a good design if you will go ti a custume party, or you are in a big carnaval, just for the performance

this is not jewelry inspired from architecture, it's architecture as jewelry. Copy+Paste (in this example) is not a very clever choice and it creates grotesque objects.
i accept the idea of using features of architecture in other objects of design, but it seems as if this project took the short root. the absence of design research is noticeable to the naked eye and this is a good example of unbearable lightness of using the computer and a 3D printer.

This isn't the strongest work...needs more thought to push the idea to make it more interesting & creative.
I agree with the other post, this is architecture as jewelry, not inspired.
I could see Lady Gaga wearing one of these pieces, maybe the spiral cuff or cathedral bracelet...

Since when has fashion been expected to be practical? I think these are stage pieces... and of course you are not going to wear it to the grocery store.. or even out on the town. But they are beautiful and thoughtful and I love the adaptation of architecture to fit the body.
Well done!

Very original. I really like it. The pieces could be good for people to wear to a ball.
