kwon sunman: rug with scale

'rug with scale'

most people have scales at home to measure and control their weight.
a change of weight can be the most basic and important piece of data that represents one’s
health and body shape. 'rug with scale' designed by kwon sunman, simply combines a scale with a rug.
ideally to be placed in the bathroom for frequent use, it gives a soft touch and displays
the user’s previous, present and goal weight as references. the measured weight is saved
to give the user an idea of their progress - illuminated through figures. the textile part of the rug
can be removed for cleaning and changed according to the user’s tastes.

this concept won the red dot design award 2009.

Great Idea,

Finally a scale that you can leave laying around. But can you wash it?

When I'm in a foggy bathroom, I take my glasses off. There is no way I could read the tiny display even with my glasses on.
