lisa shahno is a russian fashion designer based in moscow who creates clothing using high tech materials
and geometric forms. shahno’s most recent collection, titled ‘hexapelerine’ features an unusual form
known as a hexaflexagon. the design is stitched with orange-pink and green dayglo thread which glows in
fluorescent light. ‘squaring the square’ is a previous collection by shahno which is based on a geometric
problem. each piece is made using rectangular pieces of various lengths and widths ranging from
rectangles to squares. the pieces are sewn together and bonded in different orders to create an array of
forms.
