laurent milon: magnetic rings

iron ring and powder galvanized with heavy layers of silver

'magnetic rings' by french designer laurent milon focused on creating shapes that
would evade the limits of nowadays' industrial processes. he produced the rings with
freezed iron powder, made desirable thanks to molecules of other precious metals.

Hideous.

interesting technique but final product - quite ugly..
maybe it would look better if contrasted with a high polished material..and not for jewelry, but some other products..

I WOULD BUY THIS RING :D

Been done so many times before!! And besides the true test of a piece of jewellery's viability is would you want to be wearing this ring if you were in a car accident??!! I rest my case.

its like a sad story...of a monster being born..the creator does what he thinks is creative n experimental...n then the creator dies n the world just loves to criticizes the monster's existence..cause they haven't seen anything like it before...without completely understand..why..what..
i love the video...:-)

I forgot to mention :
The project is called 'magnetic ring' because the initial spiky shape is obtained with a magnet.
However, the magnet is no longer needed after the galvanization process : precious metal molecules sticked the iron particles together, like a solid shell.
