'bamboo' shot glass, 40mm x 110mm
japanese designer yu nomura from studio blue-hour has designed a shot glass that takes
its structure from bamboo sticks.with an opening on either side, the glass can be filled
on both ends. the fused glasses are intentionally made with one side larger in size than
the other, convenient for mixing beverages in different proportions.

It says on the blog page that this features a unique double-ended opening. I've seen so many glasses like this in the past – I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with it but it's an idea that has been around for years and a bit exhausted to say the least.

mod-Ernest,
yes, the double-ended opening has been around for a while.
what I really wanted to say is that it looks unique because of similarity to the bamboo structure.
I quite like it.

Yes, agreed, its quite beautiful and see what you mean that it mimics bamboo with the compartment/hollow and rib structure - I would love to see just bamboo glasses though too... cut at varying lengths.

This shape is always an attractive idea and does highlight the fluid contained.
I am particularly attracted to the similarity it has with bamboo.
I think I saw the Float pieces, created by molodesign.com, before these came about.

Are they really that different to these:
apartment therapy
Then there's these:
allee willis
lovemaegan
And don't you think they would chip easily on the edge? I think that these would potentially break very easily.
Personally, I'm not sure that the weight distribution would be good on these either.
I've seen lots of these at degree shows in the past – it's a design that keeps cropping up all the time but a slight change in the aesthetic.

RE: Mod- Ernest you might be right in saying that there are others that are similar, but I think the nicest of all is this one.

how would you wash it? not in the dishwasher. one end will always be filled with water. you have to wash by hand and dry by hand. otherwise you'd get streaks on one end.
