2010 world cup nike team kits

after unveiling their newest football boots, nike showcased their official team uniforms for the upcoming
2010 world cup in south africa. the new uniforms are not only the most advanced ever made by nike but
also their most environmentally friendly. all the jerseys are made from recycled polyester, each one
produced from up to eight recycled plastic bottles. the bottles are sourced from landfills in japan and
taiwan and melted down to produce yarn for making the jerseys. by using this process nike estimates they
reduce energy consumption by up to 30 percent versus using virgin polyester. technically these kits will
keep players dry, cool and comfortable thanks to ventilation zones on each side of the jersey. these
ventilation zones are created by laser cutting 200 tiny holes into the fabric. nike will be outfitting brazil,
the netherlands, portugal, USA, south korea, australia, new zealand, serbia and slovenia in this year’s
world cup.
