the dutch-belgian design studio, studio job in collaboration with viktor & rolf, recently completed
the new scenography for the french fashion house's autumn / winter 2010/11 collection,
'glamour factory', shown march 6th in paris.
'the base of the scenery is a pattern we originally composed for a series of marquetry objects,
titled 'industry' (2008). specially for the occasion nynke transformed the pattern into a more theatrical,
3D form that reminded us slightly of fritz lang's 'metropolis'. together with viktor & rolf we decided
to totally wrap the giant catwalk and backdrops with more than 1000m2 'industry'! it was pleasant
to see how naturally this architectural scene was absorbed by the glamour of the fashion industry.'

Very novel idea peeling off the layers revealing elements of surprise and the revolving podium for an all-round audience view I liked a great deal as well. Wish I could have a better glimpse of the garments.

Is that a fur coat on the first model? I see the one strand of moral fibre that the fashion industry once displayed has been well and truely shredded in favour of the profit margin. Shame.

Itīs the best Iīve seen in moths!!!
Art, industrial, mechanics, human design, everything together. And their perfomrance shows they know very well every piece, its function, whereas at the same time, shows the union between fabrics, art and design.
Incredible.
V&R I love you for ever.

This is brilliant, how they develop the concept without interfere with what they really want to show, the clothes... brilliant
