in correspondence with the release of their book 'abandon architectures', UK-based design studio
el ultimo grito (EUG - rosario hurtado and roberto feo) presents three new collections
of work at the aram gallery, london.

known for their reinvention of objects and large-scale installations, EUG's most recent work
has questioned cultural and social preconceptions of architectural space and objects,
which is apparent in the work included in the 'dialogues' exhibition.

heres my addition to this 'dialogue'
"most of this work is dreadful"
it feels like talking with your embarrassing grandad who's a bit deaf and out of touch
the orange table is quite nice although the 'structure' feels very tacked on.The craftmanship in the glass is amazing, but as for the ideas, see above...

The blown glass archetypes are a wonderful inspiration for architects and designers, because they show the essential elements of the type, without any "box" at all. I'd love to own one of each, for the intrinsic beauty and fascination of blown glass, and for the inspiration. The writer of the article needs a better grip on English writing, though.

cardboard tape and resin table: so underwhelming. Really? that's it? A Sunday project for 3 bored grade 6 kids that somehow made it into this space? That's not design, it's a joke...

don't know why Im defending grandad, but I have to say I think the tape and resin table is kind of cool. I guess that theyre trying to include bored doodles within the remit of design, which I like. However, Id like it a lot more if they could cast it in bronze, repaint it and sell it at a designart auction. no, really, I would...
