studio-kg: earshell

studio-kg: earshell

once slipped on, 'earshell' can be used to improve one's hearing when listening to music.

after presenting 'eat with your fingers' (taste) and scenter (smell), madrid architecture
and design firm studio-kg tackles our sense of hearing through 'earshell'.

earrings have been a symbol of distinction and expressing individuality. however, aside
from showcasing a sense of style, they provide very little functional use. keeping this
in mind, studio-kg created 'earshell', a simple sound enhancing device that also has
a jewellery like appearance.

3 down only two more to go, then the studio will be able to channel their energy and creativity towards more relevant items.

Novelty shops with a design twist are prospering, this could be fodder for the frivolous crowd.

Props for execution and commitment to the party line.

pretty useless as a hearing aid... and i have to second che that you apparently would be very much ridiculed.
still... maybe this is designed for cosplayers?

simple and beautiful
nowadays we should think a little bit more about what do senses really mean to us in this extreme digital society, and how we can enhance their importance in our lives.
whatever   03.14.10
does it come in mickey mouse style?
minnie   03.14.10
so ridiculous its funny and fresh...

... they are a totall ripoff of JDS's Muuto "crushed bowls" though...
but then again, why not? "bowls for your ears" !!

i have seen other such ridiculous hearing aids pretty much identical to these. I can't remember if the other ones were taking themselves seriously though.

hey guys,
Why not just use what you'e given and put your hand to your ear! Hey presto, no cost, good use of "natures" given attributes. Do these things work for your butt too, they could call it the Fart Bl-ASS-ter. In any case this idea just wreaks and is full of hot air.

I think studio KG has watched one too many Lord of the Rings movies and need to stop acting like pixies or get off of the Absynthe.
ehh   03.15.10
I like, it's another way to think our objects! Ridiculous? I don't think. Glasses are more and more designed to be seen, why not this type of objects?
