I don't think the hoops would even withstand the impact before it all comes apart. this is just vandalism to vacant homes.

jpa-have you been to Detroit? The whole place is an act of corporate vandalism--its been destroyed! This is clearly more conceptual than functional. It is poetic and insightful commentary.
f.stachio 03.11.10
This piece can be seen as commentary but it also works. So what if players have to adjust their style of play a bit, fun can be had here. Maybe its about accessing possibilities
T. 03.11.10
He also make the balls himself - so it works!
love the baskets!
the crate i would have rather fixed to my bike...

2 kind of people, 1. those who do things, even if it doesn't always make sense, 2. those who criticising everything what other people do.
From Artistic point of view this is a sign of hope and good will in the depressed Detroit. ART camouflage in function.

Anybody ever play Nerfball in an apartment? Same idea. Functional AND conceptual -- and an act of defiance in the face of corporate vandalism. Love the stenclled backboard. Implies a trail of backboards and people bouncing balls off them all the way to GM's front door.
