luca nichetto: plinto

luca nichetto: plinto

'plinto'

industrial designer luca nichetto has created 'plinto' for skitsch, a hybrid object that functions
either as a stool or as a small table. its form was based on the parallelepiped-shaped
blocks of concrete frequently used on construction sites but also recalls, as its name explicitly
indicates, the plinth that serves as a column’s base in greco-roman architecture.

'plinto' detail, made in concrete.

aside from being stackable and usable both indoors and out, 'plinto' also has a built-in
handle that allows it to be easily moved from one place to another.

'plinto' will be showcased at milan design week 2010.

is it really in concrete...that thin?
can somebody explain how is it done? because it doesn't seem very possible to me, but I'd love to be proved wrong!

I'm not sure that the alternating functions of a stool and table can really be considered 'hybridity.'

Its probably made of something similar to eternit.

Stool table... same thing...

It possibly made with fibre glass and concrete.
