steven goetz: watch3

'watch3' by steven goetz

swiss designer steven goetz has sent in images of his recent project 'watch3'. the main
idea behind watch3 is that the numbers are printed on the underside of the sapphire crystal.
as the numbers are white over a white dial, they are only visible when the hour hand passes
under each figure. the dial itself is covered in luminova, a non radioactive phosphorescent
paint, that glows for several hours after exposure to light.  with the very clear indexes this
makes the watch easily readable by day and by night.

the design of the case is very clear and without clutter. as a counterpoint, the back of the watch
is engraved in a playful way.  all the materials used are of the highest quality: steel case,
sapphire crystal, ETA quartz movement, all swiss made and assembled by hand in the swiss
watch capitol biel.

Great looking watch Steve. If you require people to bench test them, just let me know. Keep up the good work.

Hy Gareth. Thanks for the feedback. The prototype has been running fine for about two years now. The large cutout in the hour hand was necessary to get the weight of the hand down, which increases the accuracy of the movement.

really nice and original!
