singaporean designers cici chen and lui honfay of cilicon faytory presented their
new furniture collection 'fairy' chairs at the IFFS singapore furniture fair 2010.

the traditional asian language of this furniture collection has been translated into
a clean contemporary style. the application of hand-carved ornaments does not
compromise the clean lines.

I like the way how it relates to handicraft and that it is still a very oriental style

I was at their exhibition booth. I was very impressed with the detailing of the chair. While there is a modernity of the form, there are hints of craftsmanship that catches the eye in a subtle and pleasant way.

Good job! :)

Too many jealous people commenting.
The moooi chair is a carved chair.
That is the only thing in common.

This is a mix between asian tradition an european elegance. It's something that cant be done in america because of the cost of hand fabrication. Gaving a edge on production to asian product. BUT, aesteticaly it's a bit poor. Nothing new in the lines. And to romantic for me. Is that new art deco?!
Poetti   03.27.10
hope the spelling mistakes on the names are intentional...looking a bit wannabe.
