inoda + sveje: crys table

'crys' table

danish-japanese design duo, inoda + sveje have designed 'crys' a custom made, modular table
produced by italian company de stalis.

the design includes 'plugs' for various functions, accommodating electrical cords,
recessed flower vases, generic fittings for lamps etc. the table top is made from natural treated oak
or reinforced plywood laminate, while the legs are made from solid natural treated oak.
it comes in round, square or rectangular shaped options.

the work of inoda + sveje will be on show in an exhibition at spazio corso como 9,
during milan design week 2010.

This is an excellent, clean and very user-friendly table ... would love to see iterations in different finishes and alternate materials, particularly for the surface. Bravo.

nice, wait... sametable
And if you click through the images on that page it actually even has similar ports. Weird how much they are alike.

Hmm, concept of the plugable table seems new to me, but the Y-shaped legs though was very common in the 60's

hmm... cnc-ing wood to try making it look like wood...
incorporated plugs, but no cables around the table...
still, a really neat looking deck...
