luca trazzi: T-garden

luca trazzi: T-garden

as part of the interni think tank program, italian architect luca trazzi is presenting 'T-garden'
at milan design week 2010. the project has been done in collaboration with cross point,
manufacturers of LED-technology light fittings and  interfaces, and eurojersey,
who conceived and patented sensitive® fabrics, a system of eco-responsible
and high-performance fabrics.

'T-garden'

the concept behind the project is the garden, historically a place of aesthetic materials and plants,
conveying the emotion of natural beauty. located within the courtyard of the università degli studi
di milano which dates back to 1469, 'T-garden' is a technological garden of luminous flowers
with shooting colors, wires and fabrics, creating a 'garden of light', through the exploration
of new lighting technologies by cross point.

the 'flora and fauna' of trazzi's modern garden are structures of threadlike metal armors and warm-knit
materials of sensitive® fabrics by eurojersey. when lit, these 'technological flowers' create thousands
of colorful matches. these lighting components are applied on an ellipse of metal nets to create a modern
and technological garden. inside, the onlooker can interact and play with the installation components,
by changing their shape and color.
