'fruit-template' by japanese designer nendo allows fruits to sit inside the holder by
plugging into the corresponding shape. by placing apples, oranges and bananas in this
format, 'fruit template' is a departure from the conventional fruit bowl.

'fruit-template' is being showcased galleria antonia jannone for milan design week 2010
as part of a private exhibition called 'chair garden'.

Tacky product, this guy is over stretching his talent

This must be one of the world´s most unnecessary products..?

Is it a critique of industrial OGM fruit production,
with consumers buying only perfectly rounded, symmetric shapes?
KAREN   04.18.10
This is stupid and as balloons says , these guys have too much output right now - seems like a new product each week. Most of their stuff is quite nice, some excellent in my opinion but this thing, critique or not is just a waste of everybody's time. Fruitbowls are not really a problem we need to be looking at, mine works fine... get back on track guys!

I pity the poor straight banana. One question would I have to take a tape measure to the supermarket to make sure the pieces of fruit fitted before I bought them, or would I have to take this silly contraption with me? Who the hell buys/eats one strawberry or two cherries?

This is a product which creates exclusion of "imperfect fruit" and hence is a reflection of society. Nendos approach is also a reflection of society in its uneccessary wants rather than needs. Could have easily made a nice frutibowl from half of this material.
kg   04.19.10
hehe, then if anything. we should just settle with conventional fruit bowls to preach the need for society to accept things of all shapes and sizes... maybe i am too optimistic... silly me... :D
