'luceste' = luce (light) + celeste (of sky) was an installation created with toshiba LED lighting
by japanese architect makoto tanijiri of suppose design office, on display during milan design week 2010.

the installation explored the beauty of light itself.
a ceiling-mounted LED installation diffuses lighting through a veil of swirling mist (clouds)
to suffuse the exhibition space with a spectrum of growing color.
visitors got to experience toshiba's lighting and are challenged to, .
.. perhaps change their preconceived conceptions of LEDs.

visitors engaged in this interactive installation: by whistling clouds moved, by clapping hands
the color of light changed.

visitors were surrounded by gentle light once they entered the space, in which colors continually changed as clouds moved over the ceiling

installation credits:
creation: makoto tanijiri (architect, suppose design office)
technical support: izumi okayasu (lighting designer, izumi okayasu lighting design),
shinichi sakamoto (technical adviser, graphica inc), seigen ono (composer/ recording engineer)
creative direction: nobuhiro fushiya (toshiba corporation).

toshiba's brand concept is that of being a 'corporate citizen of planet earth', toshiba seeks to create
a better environment, and for this reason, they halted production of general purpose incandescent
bulbs in march this year.

Wot Fun! Now if we could get the whole ceiling done and some 3D design, as in curves and peaks, one could spend all day gazing and meditating upon it d;-)
