commissioned for milan design week 2010, 'mimosa' is an experimental artwork featuring
philip lumiblade OLED lighting. the piece is designed by jason bruges studio in collaboration
with philips lumiblade creative lab.  taking its cue from the mimosa family of plants,
the design changes kinetically to suit its environmental conditions. the studio has used
the slim form of individual OLEDs to create delicate light petals, forming flowers which
open and close in response to visitors.

the lumiblade creative lab brings together professionals from a wide range of creative
backgrounds, inviting them to experience – and experiment with – lumiblade lighting
for themselves. the creative lab is a real workshop, in germany, where experts in the fields
of lighting, electronics and materials are exploring the many uses of OLED lighting.
