london-based designer paul cocksedge has designed 'skin', a suspension lighting solution for flos.
the idea for 'skin' was derived from the desire to reinvent the notion of what a lamp can be
outside of the voluminous shapes of conventional bulb lighting. it is comprised of thin sheet metal
which has undergone minimal alterations to its basic form. its essential purpose is to achieve
the most out of the least, making it an exercise in lightness and equilibrium. the structure resembles
two sheets of paper - sandwiching and concealing the lighting components - which carefully peel open
in the bottom corner to reveal the light source.

the installation alludes to the light which looks like a blade, splitting open like an orange being cut
