rintala eggerston architects have designed a home in bodo, norway. the site is located
on the side of a mountain facing southwest with a 15 m height difference. the two storey
house consists of 3 bedrooms, guest room, work studio and sauna, altogether approx.
130 square meters of heated floor area.
constructed with a wooden structure and wooden facades, concrete base and metal roof
the form of the house creates necessary microclimates for the entrance and courtyard
outdoor areas.
the building is due to be complete by the end of 2010.

the temporary structure aims to achieve a higher quality of life with less square meters by means of simple, ecological materials.

the nearby historic open mines will be changed to serve as an open air art gallery. the new structures will be made of local wood, consisting of walkways, bridges and stopping/ viewing sites anchored to the bedrock.
