HHF architects: cabriolet

HHF architects have been awarded first prize for their 'cabriolet' project for the swiss art
awards 2010.

the sculpture titled 'cabriolet' - a car without a body featuring only a roof on stilts - stands
just below eye level. this contextual object was exhibited at two sites -the roof terrace of
the HHF architects office and as part of the swiss design awards 2010 exhibition hall in
basel. playing with the idea that an object's form and space can stand largely independent
of each other, a key challenge for the architects was to create a sculpture that would be
well suited -in both design and construction for each location. at each setting, the sculpture
produces different associations and is explained by the cars own history.
