norwegian rintala eggertsson architects were commissioned to design the extension of the existing bomuldsfabriken art gallery in arendal, south norway. the nearby historic open mines will be changed to serve as an open air art gallery. the new structures will be made of local wood, consisting of walkways, bridges following the natural flow of the surrounding landscape, with viewing sites anchored to the bedrock.
