london based design studio campaign has designed a pop up book store made entirely
out of pleated cardboard. open for the london festival of architecture, the 'foldaway bookshop'
features a collection of high quality publications, both new and old, from selections made
by independent artist book fair 'handmade & bound' and some of london's practicing architects
and critics. the shelves are made from accordion-folded sheets of 10 mm-thin cardboard
which lines all four interior walls. a centrally-located cardboard vitrine showcases select
vintage issues of 'architectural design' from the late monica pidgeon's collection,
the journal's editor from 1945-75.

the design of the shelves was influenced by open pages in a book

the 'foldaway bookshop' is open until july 4, after which all the cardboard will be recycled
