norwegian architectural firm pushak (camilla langeland, sissil morseth gromholt, marthe melbye,
and gyda drage kleiva) has designed an installation featuring an indoor moss landscape for
the architecture foundation in london, england. 'moss your city' is a part of AF's exchange
program for young and emerging architects in norway and the UK. the aim of the project
was to encourage foresting initiatives in urban settings by creating a space using natural resources
that appealed to the senses in colour and scent. the installation is also an active hub for events
and group activities, allowing people to gather and foster positive ideas on greening the city.
'moss your city' is on view at the architecture foundation until august 6.

I wonder what the implications are on the material the moss grows on. Would it compromise the integrity of bricks and concrete? Also I expect the environment would have to be fairly humid in order to sustain the moss? Although we are in Smokey conditions constantly due to car exhausts and pollution, but what impact would the humidity have on our health in conjunction with everyday pollution?
I believe we should be supportive of peoples achievements, especially in one as exciting as this, so my questions are not meant as a criticism or to belittle this project. It is more to better understand how this can work in an everyday environment, so that I may one day look to "Moss my house"!
