paying homage to the blanket forts we used to make as kids, thailand-based creative collective
apostrophy's have designed 'art 4d pavilion' for the ASA architect expo this year in bangkok.
the tent-like structure is a temporary bookstore, selling publications and periodicals on art,
architecture, and interior design from publishing house, art 4d. the design provides
a different experience from the traditional exhibition booth, creating a space where interaction
and play is encouraged.
the pavilion is divided into 5 zones:
(r)ead is a space where the customers can flip through a book or magazine before purchasing
(r)esting provides a place to sit, lie down, even sleep in a pile of pillows
d(r)ink is equipped with a coffee machine for anyone who wants a drink
t(r)ade is where the books and magazines are paid
pleasu(r)e is a space for kids to play and have fun
the pavilion was designed with the idea of fast architecture and smart shelter in mind:
being modular in design, production and assembly time is short and simple. instead of fixing
the structure to the floor, it utilizes common clips and screw-in hooks for anchorage. the light
and flexible material makes the design temporary and adaptable for different events.
