paredespino architects have completed the centro abierto de actividades ciudadanas (CAAC) project in cordoba, spain.
the large-scale installation consists of prefabricated circular elements that vary in height
and diameter, arranged in a flexible manner to allow a similar vision of an urban forest of shadows.
the parasols also provide artificial lighting at the same time allowing water to drain from the city's main
square.

located close to cordoba railway station the project offers a covered area, protected from the weather,
which will house a temporary market two days a week and other activities.

beautiful to see from the top. Kind of lost from the human level...anyway, this is the one of the most beautiful public architecture I have even seen.

if using mat finish for surfaces, the color reflection was more effective.

Dear designboom,
Sometimes I don't get it. Sometimes I don't like it.
Many times I am surprised by - What I first thought to be a laughable waste of talent - Only to find later in the day that the concept and execution will stay with me and haunt me in my dreams.

It would be better to install benches
J1   09.02.10
Unless they have a farmers market everyday, I don't understand the lack of benches.

Other than that, it's beautiful.
salf   09.03.10
obviously, there is a flea-market twice a week, and the expect other kind of outdoor activities. anyway, the only thing i miss is some kind of underground space to make profit of this huge surface, such as a parking lot.
