rome-based architectural firm 2A+P/A (gianfranco bombaci and matteo costanzo) have designed and created
an installation for the culture festival in l'aquila, italy. 'square' is a space for social engagement and interaction,
composed of a large linear bench circumscribing a four-sided area. inside, an arrangement of two to three-tiered
steps act as seating or podium.

the installation repurposes used skids for the general structure, and underlights the bordering benches to create
a visibly public space and atmosphere at night. the basic and somewhat vague forms in the center of the space
encourages free interpretation and improvisation on how to use the objects.
