follies is one of the latest projects from toronto’s paul raff studio, consisting of a series of emergency exit structures from
an underground transit line. while these utilitarian structures would normally have quite banal designs, paul raff studio
worked with IBI group architects to create varied designs that would elevate their aesthetics. the intent is to design
buildings with a position contribution to the city since they are typically located in high visibility areas. each of the
designs successfully integrates safety requirements while also addressing human scale, context and beauty. the exteriors
are composed of multi-layered glass that each uniquely reflect its context.
