‘the bayside marian hotel’ by japanese firm yasutaka yoshimura architects is based on the form of the shipping container. located on the seaside of yokohama, the prefabricated modular cottages are randomly placed on the site, allowing for each residence to have different views. the long narrow containers have been fabricated in thailand and assembled in japan. each unit is made up of two containers which are stacked upon one another.
