fukuyama-based firm kazunori fujimoto architect & associates has sent us images of
'house in nasu', a weekend house in japan's tochigi prefecture. located in a resort town
close to other neighboring houses and roads, the design looks to provide a calm
and minimalist interior.

street elevation
utilizing a simple layout, the living area is contained in a single open space on one end
with the entrance, washroom and utility on the other by ways of a long and narrow hallway.
a large enclosed courtyard space acts as a buffer between the two areas, which is formally
made evident from the exterior. characterized by a simple gabled-roof profile, the house looks
to be made of two volumes in the approach.

the main living space features a large slab of concrete that partially separates and defines the space.
the composition sketches out the sleeping area from the living and dining. a kitchen unit is tucked
into one wall behind a panel of white curtains. offering an expansive view of the courtyard through
sliding glass doors, the interior is visually linked to the exterior and its elements.

...And I can't understand why if house was plan in two volumes sleeping space is in the same space than dining, living and kitchen.

does anyone cook?
If I grill something in that kitchen I will have to sleep with the smell of the food! no way!
the house design its absolutely beautiful but the way is organize, in my point of view, it's not great.
