the importance of lighting and color of the interior is shown through full-color spreads
designed by new york-based creative branding agency watson & company, the hardcover book 'david adjaye: a house for an art collector',
published by rizzoli, chronicles the first building project in manhattan by london-based architect david adjaye.
the publication features 140 pages of full-color photographs, floor plans and essays, as well as a dialogue between adjaye and the homeowners,
outlining the working relationship between commissioner and creator during the building of the residence which began several years ago.
the project was commissioned by an art collector and his wife, an art dealer, who were reconsidering a new home for their themselves
and their collection of contemporary art that includes pieces by such artists as maurizio cattelan and urs fisher.
turning to modernist architectural masterpeices such as pierre chareau's maison de verre in paris or philip johnson's rokefeller guest house in manhattan
as their starting point, the couple wanted something iconic, that would make a statement while still providing a space for their art,
in which they could comfortably live.
to complete the book, watson & company has also designed a limited edition plexiglass slip-case which is influenced
by adjay's design.

the book is divided by space, providing an outline and images of the art collector's pieces and presentation within the context of their home
