architecten de vylder vinck taillieu: inutilities exhibition

inutilities exhibition
galerie valerie traan, antwerpen, belgium
september 8 to october 15, 2011

the galerie valerie traan located in antwerpen, belgium, will display ‘inutilities’ a retrospective exhibition featuring the work of belgium based practice architecten de vylder vinck taillieu beginning september 8, 2011. a range of their work including completed architectural projects, furniture and models runs until october 15, 2011. an exploration in the connotation of words, the collection’s title ‘inutilities’ gives a misleading impression of its contents. the imaginative creations represent the architect’s fascination with designing for people and their individual interests. visitors can witness works resulting from use of the terms ‘steal, copy, forge, hacking, hostage, ruin, waste, graft’, all playful twists on commonly used descriptive design language.
