following up on our previous coverage on the project, here are some completed images
of 'sweet parliament home' by madrid-based practice andres jaque arquitectos at
the gwangju design biennale 2011 in korea. the pavilion is a direct response to
the current phenomenon in seoul where the concept of domesticity is spatially fragmented
and constantly in a state of flux.

aerial view
drawing from a five year research that explored all venues of domestic interiors,
the pavilion draws from a number of different urban pockets that together represent
the idea of 'home'. they are largely driven by social networks and individually provide
a spatial forum for meeting and discussion, such as a karaoke bar, a public sauna, and a cafe.

view of outer skin
partially wrapped in a translucent skin, the pavilion is defined by four spaces that create
the border of the layout. the areas area encouraged to be inhabited by specialized groups
while the common space in the centre provides a neutral platform for social cross-pollination
by a small garden.
