in boulogne-billancourt, france. the site of a former renault factory is undergoing a transformation into a lively district
for residents of the ile de france and transient visitors. projected to be completed in 2023, the area will feature over
300,000 m2 of cultural, social and retail facilities, parks, gardens terraces and quays. positioned along the seine river,
the development's planted esplanades and high terraces will create a produce green island. a retractable panel at the top of
the structure extends to cover the rooftop garden.

This design may look good as a diagram in a architecture book however I am not quite so sure about the actual building. It's a bit like a Photoshop collage....

It looks like it's trying to be a rendering and succeeding. So, good work there, but really not a fan of that idea.

This building doesn´t have identity, is a mess, the top looks like a pigeon house, the middle its so boring, and the base, is the only part I like.

and the inside?

come on guys, this is nice. love it.

agree with curious. always cautious when you only see the outside of a building. form over function do you reckon?

I'm a big fan of Nouvel but this looks horribly outdated already. It might have worked as a concept but it should never have been built. Judgng from the photos it looks like large parts of the interior will be without daylight. Ultimately, the only thing that makes it different from the generic office tower is the stacking and slight rotation, but the benefits are hard to see...

Look at the difference between the greens on the project and on the finished work..It's so funny.. there is a complete book to be done of the exageration of the green parts and terrace gardens in the projects..
In two years, it will be a rotten mess like the "Musée des Arts premiers" that is already falling apart.
He is just a good friend of the right wing politicians that are in power. that's all.

Looks like three buildings built in the '80s combined to save on property taxes. Not saying I don't like it, just that's what it made me think of. The concept is fantastic, the hodgepodge a result of the need to honor randomness... so bravo. Kinda.

The problem is that it's not a beautiful building; it places intellectualism (the cleverness of the statement) above the facts of the building and location, not to mention the humanity it sacrifices to make a point.
