ten international architects will come together to collaborate for the 'META' project, an initiative to create a series of pavilions
to be located within communities along the coast of chile as a response to the country's devastating earthquake which occurred
on february 27, 2010. supported by the chilean government, the structures serve a humanitarian purpose but additionally
function as a humanistic enterprise, improving the post-catastrophic situation while reconstructing cultural infrastructure.

organized by CASA POLI in association with concepcion-based practice pezo von ellrichshausen, the designs will be created by
spanish architect alberto campo baeza, buenos aires-based practice adamo faiden, san francisco-based practice johnston marklee,
studio mumbai architects of india, pezo von ellrichshausen of chile, australian architect sean godsell, portuguese architect paulo david,
norwegian firm rintala eggertsson, london-based sergison bates and office kgdvs of brussels, belgium.

each building will operate as structures of restitution, sited within autonomous locations to generate individual experiences
derived from internal principles. architecture will be distilled to its purest form, facilitating relationships between humans and
their encompassing landscape. positioned on an extension of land, the 'tumbes' proposal by studio mumbai architects features
a concrete meeting point placed upon a podium with views of the sea and a nearby boat repair area on quiriquinao island.
the 'i.s. maria' pavilion by pezo von ellrichshausen recovers the identity of the former lighthouse of north port.
alberto campo baeza's 'cobquecura' is comprised of t-shaped bridges to traverse the steep terrain from the elevated street
level down to a future waterfront promenade. a main hall is elevated with windows overlooking the adjacent dichato bay.
