italian practice markus schemer architekt has completed 'nals-margreid winery', located in nals, bozen, italy, a new facility that
merges of two existing wine production buildings.
the previous site consisted of several structures which are now brought
together to facilitate the advanced technologies associated with wine making. the expansion boasts a larger underground cellar,
a cantilevering roof with an origami surface and, a new barrel cellar in the courtyard providing visitors with a glimpse into the
vinification process. surfaces consist of brown
and red concrete to mimic the bordering cemetery stones and wood to coincide
with the natural fabrication of the product.
