the grand jury for this year’s world architecture festival has revealed the first twelve winning projects from around the globe during the widely attended 3-day celebratory event in barcelona, spain. the selected feature completed buildings within the civic and community, culture, holiday, house, landscape, learning, new and old, office, production, energy and recycling, sport and transport categories. these have been chosen from over 700 projects created by a range of internationally renowned practices to local architects of 66 different countries.

unveiled on the second day included completed structures within the display, health, housing and shopping sectors along with future proposals. remaining to be released is the 2011 building of the year.
