a collaboration between mexico-based firm rojkind arquitectos and design workshop esrawe studio, construction for
the 'tori-tori restaurant' in polanco near mexico city is now complete. emerging from the ground like climbing ivy,
the CNC routed facade appears to waver and curve. subtly different, the two layers of self-supporting steel were precisely
handcrafted and finished to generate the dynamic effect. the outdoor terrace allows guests to eat or drink amongst natural vegetation
while the furniture has been specifically developed for a comfortable dining experience. a complete collection of tables and chairs
were created to enhance each interior area connecting the atmosphere and function.

in reference to the digital design and fabrication methods, michel rojkind, founding partner of rojkind arquitectos, has stated:
'at rojkind arquitectos we are very rigorous about experimenting with digital design as well as getting things built.
that’s why we have specially focused on how to translate complex geometries into very simple and
understandable drawings that benefit from local manufacturing, as is the case of working in mexico city.'

first paragraph
"the CNC routed facade appears to waver and curve. subtly different, the two layers of self-supporting steel were precisely handcrafted and finished to generate the dynamic effect."
I think it might be steel and you may need to read as well as look at the pretty pictures
Brilliant project with remarkably simple execution of a wonderfully dynamic space.
@Andrés Sánchez/Berlin
Blue light effects on the cornea and eyestrain are generally from long periods staring at a computer screen, in this case they will mainly be looking at the food or into each others eyes (I hope), also there is a balance of other colours there to reduce eyestrain - unless people visit and stare at the inside of the facade constantly for hours on end there is no risk - is that seriously what you were suggesting
Blue light is relaxing and calming, peaceful, astringent. So this space should be very nice to be in!
You guys might find this interesting.
cheers.
