perched upon a rocky cliff overlooking the village of moos, italy, ‘granat’ is an observation platform and exhibition space by italian practice werner tscholl. architekt. with sweeping views of the passeiertal valley, the pair of structures are derived from the geologic formations which produced the encompassing tyrolean landscape.

visitors takes a break from their mountain drive on the ‘moos im passeier’ to enter the garnet red steel framework which envelopes a viewing platform. connected via a wooden bridge, a windowless geometric unit contains the exhibition space. the interior surface of the large concrete facets are used to display information about the highest waterfall in south tyrol and other relevant sites to see in the area.
