'saijo clinic' by aida atelier, shinjuku, tokyo, japan

japanese firm aida atelier has completed the 'saijo clinic', a mental health counseling center in shinjuku, tokyo, japan.
overlooking shinjuku gyoen park, the office is placed on the 11th floor of a building with views of the skyline from
a roof terrace. the short-care program and patient interactions occur while viewing vast green spaces borrowed
from the landscape. the interior is unified with a series of interlocking huts which serve to subtly subdivide
spaces to provide flexibility.

a central area may be used for multiple activities at one time with the use of sliding partitions or combined into a group
meeting space. enclosed meeting and treatment rooms are placed at the perimeter for privacy. the individual volumes,
differentiated with bold color resolve the complex program within the limited area but also becomes a spatial representation
of the concept of the clinic to obscure the boundary of the treatment field and daily life.
