‘landscape fence’ is located on the property of a dwelling overlooking a lake in austria, has been designed by viennese practice heri&salli. the concept of the typical chain link fence has been transformed into an aesthetic element, enveloping this residence to provide privacy from neighbors while directing attention towards the scenic landscape. arcing and spanning above an outdoor pool and deck, the canopy’s purpose of demarcating the property’s boundaries becomes lost, instead conveying an experiential feeling of spaciousness. the diagonal pattern continuously wraps from the ceiling plane into the floor, integrating stairs, seating and tables into the fluid form.

the steel diagrid structure is intermittently sheathed with curved rectangular metal panels. the pattern dissolves as it moves vertically towards the top of the construct, becoming more open to the sky and views.
