oslo-based practice eriksen skajaa architects have designed the 'netlife research office', the revitalized home for a
consultancy firm located in oslo, norway. deep and dark spaces with low headroom were in need of a fresh update,
including spaces to foster creativity and reflection. white surfaces including a natural rubber floor, ceiling and spans of
glass walls contribute to a bright atmosphere. dividing the meeting rooms are the 'light boxes', volumes which appear
to hover due to a thin band of artificial light highlighting the meeting point of the floor and wall planes. a black corridor
contrasts the illuminated congregation areas adding a sense of solidity to the interior.

four different areas including a monastery garden, park, kitchen garden and forest clearing provide diverse environments
for relaxation and introspection. a wooden volume clad with white pigmented birch veneer, the monastery encases smaller
rooms to buffer noise from phone calls. determined by existing brick walls, the perimeter partitions are surfaced with
varied niches for plants or benches while occasional windows allow a visual connection through the interior.
