dutch firm reSET architecture has recently completed 'farmhouse', a renovation and extension to a decaying structure
positioned within the betuwe region of the netherlands. the clean and minimal addition reflects upon the simple life once
lived in the rural area. the existing stucco and brick farmhouse is maintained and preserved, while a glass corridor links a
wooden and glass-clad annex building placed behind the historical home. the differing character of the neighboring volumes is clear,
although the reduced height of the new wing and natural materiality allows it to begin transitioning and integrating with
the encompassing environment and orchard.

outward views are framed from an open-plan living space through floor-to-ceiling glazing, while the private spaces are
placed within the rooms of the modest farmhouse, viewing the landscape through peephole windows. steel framing and black wooden slats
create a refined yet rustic appearance.
