'wendy' by HWKN for MoMa PS1

'wendy', designed by new york-based architecture firm HWKN, has been selected as the winning
proposal in a competition to redesign the courtyard of the MoMA PS1 art exhibition space.

adopting the form of a three-dimensional, multipronged star set within metal scaffolding,
the structure is composed of nylon fabric, treated with a titania nanoparticle spray that neutralizes
airborne pollutants. over the course of this summer alone, 'wendy' is expected to clean the air
to an extent equivalent to the removal of 260 cars from the road.

the spikes of the star each feature different built-in technologies to offers blasts of cool air,
music, water, or mist, encouraging interactivity across a range of uses.

1. How much energy would this take to manufacture and construct in the first place?
2. I hope I don't get sprayed by this thing because titanium nanoparticles are the Asbestos of tomorrow!
3. If you don't inhale it, it goes down the stormwater drain and fish get to swim in titanium nanoparticles
4. Thanks - just what we all need is a giant nylon tent impregnated with toxic nanoparticles that will make more pollution to construct - and dispose of - than it actually 'absorbs'
5. Let's not mention the human cost of polluting the world with nanoparticles that haven't been established as safe!
6. Let's all just be human - keep it real!

Did someone mention nanoparticles?

ignoring the whole nanopartile thing (which sounds more like \"greenwash\" to me) its a great form, like a sophisticated version of playground stuff

A few trees could have done. Architects are not gods! Get a life.
